In 1963, Lakeside Laboratory became a front-runner in diatom research. Microscopic algae made of glass, diatoms tell us the history of aquatic ecosystems while providing up to 30% of the air we breathe. As we celebrate the 60th anniversary of this world-renowned course, we invite you to step into the shoes of a diatomist. What story can you find within the glass walls of these microscopic time capsules?
