January 9, 16, 23: Beginner Mosaic - With round edge stones and glass beads, students will learn how to create an image by placing their unique finds on a grouted platter!

February 6, 13, 20: Ink Jewelry - Experience how alcohol ink colors mix on metal and ceramic pendants and explore color theory. After inks dry, students will explore the beading process with a variety of interesting beads to create a necklace to wear or gift!

March 6, 13, 20: Watercolor Batik - Students will be introduced to the process of resist style painting using a speciality batik paper using line design. 

April 3, 10, 17: Clay Sculpture - Slip and Score your way to creating interesting 3-Dimensional animals and imaginary creatures by learning basic techniques for handbuilt clay sculpture. Participants can expect to come away with two smaller sculptures or one medium sized. Pieces will be left to dry, fire, and glaze over the next 2.5 weeks after completion.

January 7, 14, 21: Mosaic - Students will learn how to safely break and glue colored glass as we create an image out of glass pieces broken by hammer  -under towels and using safety glasses! Pieces will be placed like a puzzle to create image on a hardboard, grouted and sealed in a 3 session class. 

February 4, 11, 18: Beginning Metalsmithing - Learn traditional metal tool techniques to create your own cuff metal bracelet and pendant. Students will hammer letters for names or inspirational words, create texture, and add patinas to metal to wear for themselves or give as a gift!

March 4, 11, 18: Batik Painting - Using lines, students will create a line drawing in their style and apply a wax resist on a fabric tapestry. Painting the color over the wax resist, and rinsing away to see completed design. Pieces will be sent home ready to hang. 

April 1, 8, 15: Clay Sculpture & Wheel (Seats limited to 14 students) - Always wanted to try the pottery wheel? Like to sculpt animals, creatures, and more? This 3 session class combines beginner pottery wheel techniques with miniature sculptured items. Students will learn to throw a cylinder on the pottery wheel and attach a miniature sculpture to the bowl in a unique way. Pieces will be left to dry, fire, and glaze over the next 2.5 weeks after completion.


Teen Art | 7-12th | Wednesdays | 4-5 pm

January 8, 15, 22:  Glass Fusing - Learn how to cut straight lines, curves, and circles out of colored glass. Students will layer design and we will discuss how glass pieces are placed in the kiln and fused. Students will come away with a beautiful glass image created over a 3 session class.

February 5, 12, 19: Modern Metalsmithing - Learn traditional metal tool techniques to create your own cuff metal bracelet and pendant. Students will saw, pierce, hammer, create texture, and add patinas to metal to wear for yourself or give as a gift!

March 5, 12, 19: Fabric Batiks - Explore the process of resist painting on fabric. Students will create a design, learn a variety of options for resist, and dye their fabric to create a beautiful tapestry ready to hang.

Participants must register by the Wednesday one week before the class, no exceptions.
