Call to ARTISTS for the PLAC Biennial Exhibition which will run November 9th, 2023 - March 2nd, 2024 in the Weaver Lobby & McIlrath Landing Galleries

The Pearson Lakes Art Center is currently accepting entries for its Biennial Exhibition. This juried exhibition is designed to further the art center’s mission by supporting and exhibiting contemporary art from the greater Midwest. Open to artists 18 years of age and older, this exhibition traditionally brings together a diverse group of artists working in a variety of media.

JURY FEE: $20.00 fee covers up to three entries. Used exclusively for exhibition organization. Non-refundable.

SPECIFICATIONS: Each artist may submit a maximum of three works. Submission of works in all media is greatly encouraged. Three-dimensional works may not exceed 150 pounds in weight and dimensions may not exceed 60 inches (5 feet) in any one direction.

Two-dimensional work may not exceed 40 pounds in weight and 60 inches (5 feet) in any one direction.

FRAMING: All wall-hung work must be framed and/or equipped with ready-to-hang wire or loop hanging devices. The Pearson Lakes Art Center reserves the right to reject previously accepted work due to inadequate framing/mounting or for security or public safety reasons. All works must be maintenance free.

PUBLICITY: The Pearson Lakes Art Center reserves the right to photograph all exhibited works and to use these photographs for catalog, social media, educational, and/or publicity purposes.

SALES, INSURANCE & LIABILITY: Sales to the public are encouraged. The Pearson Lakes Art Center will retain 40% commission. Prices listed on the entry form must reflect this commission. If the work is not for sale, list NFS and state insurance value. Prices of accepted works may not be changed. The Pearson Lakes Art Center will provide insurance on all works while at the Art Center. The Art Center will not assume liability for loss or damage during transit to or from the Art Center; artists are encouraged to purchase their own in transit insurance.

DELIVERY: All accepted works can either be sent or hand-delivered to the Pearson Lakes Art Center anytime during business hours (listed below). Works must be received by 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 6. Works must be identified with artist name and title. All exhibited work must be picked up during regular business hours after March 5, 2023. Entries must be picked up by Saturday, March 30; work remaining after this date will become property of the Art Center, unless special arrangements are made with the Visual Arts Director. Shipping costs will be the artist’s responsibility.
