Dana Potter currently works as a user interface designer and web art director. Inspired by the systematic ways she interacts with every day digital actions, she began recording and tracking the movements of her computer mouse on screen. With these tracings, they are then cut onto birch plywood using a laser cutter, giving the movement a mechanical rather than gestural look. By tracking her own mouse movements and transforming the marks into physical and printed objects, Dana opens a door for individual exploration of our actions outside of the controlled computer environment.
